The Moonachie First Aid & Rescue Squad was founded many years ago by a small group of dedicated town’s people who all had one purpose and that was to serve their community. A few short years later under the supervision of a new captain and team of officers the squad went from basic first aid care to a first aid & rescue squad. After many years as the squad grew in size not only by its number of members but by its number of apparatus, the squad grew into a First Aid & Rescue Squad that serves the Borough of Moonachie, South Hackensack and its mutual aid towns with EMS, Rescue and rehabilitation services. As years passed by, the squad grew into a fleet, adding more and more members each year, today we stand with (50) total members that represent and make up the Moonachie First Aid & Rescue Squad.

The Moonachie First Aid and Rescue Squad is a nonprofit volunteer organization. The Squad is dedicated to providing First aid, rescue, and rehab to the Borough of Moonachie and South Hackensack’s residents and businesses. The Squad also provides these services to surrounding towns when the need arises. The squad consists of over 50 members that operate five specialty vehicles, one amphibious vehicle, one John Deere Gator, and one 5 Ton Military truck. All of which are equipped with first aid and rescue supplies.
